Katy Hoover’s love of sharing Christ began with the influence of her maternal grandparents who were missionaries to Korea and Guatemala. This love grew as she herself participated in short term mission trips to Mexico, Guatemala and the United Arab Emirates.
Now God has called Katy Hoover into a specialized Recovery ministry in Southern California ministering to women suffering abuse, sexual violence and exploitation. Each one has very specific needs for emergency shelter, meals, transportation, medical care, childcare, safe support groups and mentoring as they transition to independence. Katy is privileged to share the redeeming grace she has received from her own hurts and failures with victims and survivors of human trafficking.
The key to this ministry is providing a safe place for women to heal by getting honest with themselves, with God, and others. Katy explains, “As we assist them in gaining vocational training as well as life skills, their thinking begins to change and they are finding their God-given purpose.” Katy joins with others to provide training and opportunity. As this ministry is growing, so is their ability to care for more survivors. Katy sees herself as a “conduit”, as God uses many people to give through her to meet these needs.
