Funding is needed to construct a sewing classroom.

Assist in funding the completion of the construction of a block building for the Esther Project, a sewing project in Mugunga, Goma. This building is partially built, but needs to be finished (windows, doors, painting). After completing the building, sewing machines will also be purchased.

Esther Project was originally started by Rally International. After Rally left Congo, a GlobalGrace missionary teamed with ministry partners to take over the project. Esther Project is a sewing project that has a 6-month training course to train women (and men, but it is mostly women that attend) in sewing. This allows them to learn a skill in a short time for a small tuition price. The vision for Esther Project has always been to also have a business where these women can securely work.

The existing building is too small for the training center. Expanding the building will allow EP to become more sustainable as a project. With the business building and training center, graduates will be allowed to come to the business and work, using our machines and paying a 20% fee (10% towards the project, 10% into savings for the machine). Over time, they will be saving their own funds towards the purchase of this machine.

The money raised through GlobalGrace will be used for finishing the building (roof, paint) and towards the purchase of the sewing machines that will be a permanent part of the business.
