Encouragement for new Believers
Because of war, persecution, and instability in their home countries, millions of people have been uprooted and forced to seek a better life in neighboring countries. Displaced peoples risk their lives in their search for freedom, financial stability, and spiritual fulfillment for themselves and their families.
A grandfather in Norway carved a small number of crosses to encourage new believers among these uprooted people. These wooden crosses are just large enough to fill the hands of refugees who are finding new life in Jesus as they hear the gospel for the first time. As the crosses arrive from Norway, they are quickly placed firmly in the grips of refugee believers who need a little extra assurance and blessing from above. The wooden crosses are cherished by each person who receives one.
One cross will be given to a man who has been persecuted for his faith and is just coming out of COVID lockdown in his refugee camp. Bringing this cross into a refugee camp is a brave move for a new believer. The cross is a reminder that God has each new believer in His hand.
