Sharing His Story in West Africa
Bible stories are a very effective means of spreading the gospel in Africa. Stories about Jesus reach people who may never come to a church or listen to a sermon.
βEsiβ works at a school for the blind in West Africa. She participated in a project to prepare Bible stories in the common, every-day language of her people.
Every morning Esi got up very early to cook breakfast for girls at the school, then helped them get dressed and ready for school. After sending them off to school, Esi traveled to the project location on the back of a motorcycle 'moto-taxi', arriving when the rest of us were only finishing breakfast.
Esi is a great story-teller, and the children at the school learn the stories quickly and remember them well. They give good, thoughtful answers to the questions, including 'What have you learned from this story that you will apply to your life
'Paul', is another story-teller who is especially good with kids. He often has fifty in his group, which meets outdoors under a big mango tree. The children learn Bible stories quickly and well, and very enthusiastically answer questions about the stories.

W&E mentor local Christians in preparing Bible stories in their native language, and train them to use the stories for evangelism and discipleship.
