Rooted in Him
Last Sunday we took refugees to church in two different locations. We do our best to integrate responding/believing refugees into attending local churches somewhere in the city and region.
It is impossible to easily gather all our refugee contacts together. They are often moved or spread across different locations throughout the country. Some have also crossed into other EU countries. The nature of our work does not lend itself to holding refugees permanently in one church. If they receive asylum and freedom they often seek out other locations of opportunity elsewhere.
What is our response? WE ASK THE HOLY SPIRIT TO GO WITH THEM....and He does. We are in constant contact either by phone or internet with many. Sometimes they ask us if we remember them, which, of course, we do. It is a little like ringing migrating birds and then trying to follow where they go.
OUR GOAL IS TO BUILD THE KINGDOM OF GOD in accordance with God's eternal plan. We hold them in our open hands releasing them to fly with HIM...knowing that his promises will undergird them. This is the way we entrust the eternal seed to be reproduced wherever they go.
We are not collectors of people...or hoarders of eternal seed. God's Word says that this eternal seed that is planted will reproduce after it's kind. It is our prayer that these uprooted people will be rooted in Him, for eternity.
